ZADAR, 28 June 2019 – With the desire to make it easier for people to visualise what the Dalmatian city of Zadar looked like in the past, Magic Croatia has, with the aid of virtual reality (VR) technology, re-created the past to take people back to see what was otherwise impossible.
You can discover the more than 2,000-year-old history of the city of Zadar through a virtual tour of the 7 most attractive locations in the old town.
“Instead of imagining how Zadar once looked, you can experience history in a different and innovative way. A virtual tour through the history of Zadar is carried out with the use of VR glasses with the history displayed while stopping at seven major locations in the old town. VR glasses in those locations project attractive 360° virtual views, animation objects, sound effects and audio tracks translated into 7 languages. Adjusted design of a simple user interface allows the user to choose when to see the next point. Users do not need advanced technological knowledge to manage the VR glasses. In any case, our assistant will be at your disposal throughout the tour,” Magic Croatia said.
On the tour, people can delve into the virtual world and discover how skilled Roman builders built the magnificent ancient Forum, which has become the centre of social and economic life in Zadar, learn more about IV. Crusade and visit the St. Chrysogonus’ church, which is otherwise closed to the public.
In addition, the tour will take people the old city market, which in relation to today was on the other side of the town and show views of the old city from the air to discover how Zadar looked after World War II.
The tour, which takes 90 mins, is available every day at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 6:00 pm and 20:00 pm. The price is: 185,00 HRK or 25,00 EUR per person. Children 9-11 is 100 HRK and students and senior citizens the price is 130 HRK.
