Zagreb, 8 May 2019 – The small park in Plitvica street (across the street number 3) in Zagreb yesterday was too small for everyone who came to support the idea of sprucing up another green area in the city organised within the Art Park 2019 project.

The artistic project, which over the last four years has seen one of the most beautiful parks in the centre of Zagreb between Tomić street, Ilica and Strossmayer promenade, turned into a summer oasis, has prepared something new for the upcoming hotter months.

With a bit of façade paint, sprays, goodwill and enthusiastic neighbours, organisers have shown that more Zagreb locations can be revived with good street art ideas.

Baba Luna looking towards a gigantic Moon is the main motif of the mural which stretches across the front side of a private house, and is signed by artist Boris Bare, one of the initiators and organisers of the Art Park.

“With a little artistic ‘refreshment’ of a public space, it is possible to raise the quality of life for people, to restore smiles to their faces and in a way to bring together the community living there. We just painted the mural of Baba Luna, arranged the existing benches and children’s playground, and organised yesterday’s mini event at Martinovka. For years, with the same approach, we have been organising a project that has successfully revitalised a beautiful park in the city centre, once known as a ‘narkić-parkić’, and this is the kind of upgrade idea we want to spread to other locations. Also, this is the first in a series of activities announced in surprises for the new 2019 Art Park season,” said Boris Bare.

The next stop for the Art Park project is the Floraart show at Bundek from 13 – 19 May 2019. The art programme of live panel painting with the signature of the Art Park, the organisation of a children’s workshop in cooperation with OMart and the music cooperation with Dj Zak are planned for the final weekend of Floraart on 18 and 19 May 2019 in the afternoon.
