EuroStrings Festival Collaborative

The team working behind the scenes of Zagreb festival works harder than you think. They also founded EuroStrings Guitar Festival Collaborative  (co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union)– an ever-expanding platform for classical guitar currently spanning 17 classical guitar festivals across Europe. The Collaborative fosters excellence in musicianship, outreach work within the community, creating audience development opportunities, networking and last but not least, world-class education for emerging young guitarists.

EuroStrings Scholarship

EuroStrings has developed a scholarship programme for young guitar students enabling participation for them in international guitar competitions and masterclasses that mostly require a payment fee. EuroStrings acknowledges the financial situation of many young guitar players. This programme supports them in their further international education. Zagreb Guitar Festival would like to draw particular attention to this, encouraging people to apply.

“At Zagreb Guitar festival we want to bring the guitar to every family.  We organise concerts of different genres showcasing the finest guitarists in the world from these genres (Gipsy, Brazilian, Classical, Flamenco etc) so there’s something in the festival for everyone. We will have 11 EuroStrings musicians playing too – they will go to schools, hospitals for outreach work as well as performing in Zagreb’s best venues,” Ružica Gelo Ciglenečki, who is General Manager of Glazbena Škola Bonar and part of the festival organising team said.
